James Windsor and Ange Schriber Win Double World Championships in Abu Dhabi

From Abu Dhabi, UAE, (December 2012) — The 2012 WWA Wake Park World Championships hosted by Al Forsan International Sports Resort are in the record books. Wakeboarders from over 25 different countries came with their game faces on at the state-of-the-art sporting facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Russia, Australia, and UAE were the most represented countries; while 8 different countries won titles.

In the Pro divisions, James Windsor and Ange Schriber took matters into their own hands, winning the Pro and Features divisions; Windsor took the Pro Men’s and Pro Features divisions, and Schriber won the Pro Women’s and Women’s Features divisions; making both riders double world champions in

2012. Of course you can’t ever rule out Daniel Grant, who took podium in the Pro Men’s and Pro Features divisions and won the Pro Wakeskate Championship.

Pro Women’s and Women’s Features Champ, Ange Schriber states, “The WWA Wake Park Worlds was the best contest to end off the season and to be world champion topped it off, I definitely cant wait to come back next year.”

“To be honest, I didn’t set out to win a WWA World Championship this year, I just set out to do my absolute best. I’m so stoked to have won!” says the 2012 Pro Men’s and Pro Features champion, James Windsor. “I’d like to thank Tom Fooshee, Daniel Grant, Freddy Von Osten and Kaesen Suyderhoud for the most amazing finals in Pro Men’s and Pro Features. When Freddy and Daniel, put down such incredible Pro Men’s runs, I thought, “I’ve got nothing to loose here… I’m already in the top 4”, so I just went for it and it paid off. It was the best year I could have wished for, and I was super stoked to be part of it. Can’t wait to see what next year brings.”

On the amateur side of things, 14 other world champions were crowned; each in their respected divisions. Some of the largest fields of Junior Men and Boys divisions that the WWA Wake Park World Championships has ever seen came for the title. In Am Jr. Men’s, UAE’s own Omier Saeed worked his way through the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and put together an incredible finals pass for the victory.

Amateur Features rider Scott Rosewell (GBR) was up against riders that were twice his age; however, the 13 year old figured out the competition in the 7-minute jam format to take his first WWA Wake Park World Title.
