Event Information

41st Gold Coast Marathon on 7th of July 2019, Queensland, Australia

The world class international marathon will attract 28.000 participants of all ages and abilities from over 50 countries across eight races including the Gold Coast Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Wheelchair 15km, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Airport Fun Run and the Garmin 4km and 2km Junior Dash.

The Gold Coast Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, is the pinnacle of road running events in Australia and during its history has distinguished itself as one of the most prestigious marathons in the world.

The Gold Coast climate is traditionally good for running, with low humidity, no wind and mild temperatures, creating great conditions to achieve a personal best time. For the elite runners the Gold Coast Marathon race program includes the full 42.195km. It is famous flat, fast and scenic course located alongside the city's renowned surf beaches and broadwater plus ideal winter running conditions featuring low humidity, little wind and mild temperatures result in 60% of participants achieving personal best times each year.

Participants will be championed to the magnificent grandstand finish chute located adjacent to the broadwater in Southport by the unforgettable boisterous cheers from thousands of enthusiastic Gold Coast locals lining the streets from Paradise Point in the north to the southern turn in Burleigh Heads.

It annually attracts some of the world's most recognised marathoners from Australia and all over the world vying for a piece of the $ 110.000 price pool and is home to the fastest men's marathon run on the Australian soil and the quickest by a female since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
