26th Kitzbühel Alpine Rally

Chrome, leather and old metal on Alpine passes and scenic mountain roads. For three days in early summer, the roads in and around Kitzbühel belong to the classics of automobile history: The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally, for the 26th time, sends around 200 of the most beautiful classic cars on a grand tour from 5th to 8th June 2013.

Two automotive anniversaries are given special attention by the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally 2013: 50 years of the Lamborghini sports car brand and 50 years of Porsche 911. Select vehicles from museums and collections of the Volkswagen Group will appropriately represent these anniversaries at the Alpine Rally – in addition to may other gems from automobile history which will line up on the starting line.

The dream backdrop of the Tirolean mountains and the unique flair of Kitzbühel make the Alpine Rally a very special classic car rally, but also a meeting point for many celebrity participants from racing, showbusiness, business and sports.

The routes for the 2013 Alpine Rally are new, leading into the scenic Salzburg Lammertal valley, to the foot of the Hochkönig mountain and into Bavarian Chiemgau. A total of 500 kilometres on selected alpine roads wait to be negotiated by the 200 classic cars of 1976 model or earlier over three daily stages. Finish and highlight, as for every Alpine Rally: the vehicle parade in front of thousands of spectators on Saturday (8 June) in the afternoon in Kitzbühel city centre.

Using two separate assessments has proven reliable: The Alpine Rally-Sports-Trophy (with GPS-measurement and the Alpine Rally-Classic-Trophy for recreational drivers.
